A difficult aspect of running a city that is located on the coast of a large body of water is making sure the shoreline remains intact, and that the water doesn’t cause any issues for the residents.
Two Rivers City Manager Greg Buckley knows this all too well, and in his recent City Manager’s Report he spoke about some things the City is doing to protect the shoreline.
One project is taking place at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, where they are doing some emergency replacement of stone riprap to protect the site.
Around 300 feet of shoreline still needs to be addressed, with a total cost estimated to be around $95,000.
More of the same work is being done at the lake end of the new South Breakwater Trail.
These projects come after the same was done at the Neshotah Stormwater pond, and the southern most small wayside on Memorial Drive.
According to Buckley, the projects going on now are proposed to be funded through additional borrowing by the storm water utility.
