The Wisconsin Assembly is giving bi-partisan approval to a Holocaust education bill. It would require instruction on the Holocaust and other genocides are part of the social studies curriculum at least once in grades five through eight and once in ninth through 12th grades in all Wisconsin schools. Representative Lisa Subeck of Madison said,” as the number of Holocaust survivors shrinks, it is incumbent upon us to ensure their plight is never forgotten and the unforgivable events of the past never happen again.” A 2019 audit by the Milwaukee Jewish Federation revealed a 329-percent increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Wisconsin since 2015.
