Arlene F. Hansen, age 90, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her residence.
Arlene was born on January 20, 1930 in rural Manitowoc County to the late Leonard and Esther Meyer. After graduating from Reedsville High School, Arlene married William F. Hansen on May 5, 1948 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2009. Arlene had been an active member of the Wisconsin Rural Letter Carriers Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing doll clothes and quilts, and also spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include Arlene’s three children, Bruce (Karen) Hansen, Manitowoc; Kim (Kay) Hansen, Rising Sun, IN; and Julie Brunner and her significant other, Kalle Maunumaki, Two Rivers; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister, Laone “Tuddy” Loose, Howards Grove; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Esther Meyer; husband, William; two brothers, Kenneth “Kaiser” Meyer and William Meyer; and sister, Jean Schaefer.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate with burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
