Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers today declared a public health emergency in response to new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus.
Evers say this declaration “allows us to access state resources to deal with this pandemic head-on, care for those who need help and also limit the spread of the virus.”
The Department of Health Services will able to use all the funding necessary to respond to and contain the outbreak. Just this week Wisconsin has had five new cases.
Evers says there needs to be extensive contact tracing to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Wisconsin also has 37 residents returning from the Princess Cruise Ship who may have been exposed and need to be monitored in self quarantine for 14 days.
