Roncalli High School has announced the resignation of Varsity Football Coach Scott Senglaub.
Athletic Director Dave Mueller said in a news release this morning that Senglaub has led the Jets program for four years and has served a total of more than 20-years as the defensive coordinator, varsity assistant, and head coach.
Mueller said in a statement today that Roncalli is grateful to Coach Senglaub for his hard work and dedication to the Jets program. School President John Stelzer added, “Scott has been both an excellent Christian role model for our student-athletes and a highly successful coach.”
With Senglaub leaving the position, Roncalli has hired Paul Kinsella as the new head coach. Kinsella has been a part of the football coaching staff for the past 7-seasons and currently serves as a math teacher. As an all-conference offensive lineman at Illinois Wesleyan University and a coach on the collegiate level at Lawrence, Lakeland, and Northern Illinois, Kinsella wants to develop a flag-football program at Roncalli Elementary School and help develop football in the community with his involvement in the Chief’s youth football organization.
John Stelzer said of his hiring, “Paul will continue to bring values, knowledge and that same enthusiasm to our school & program. We are fortunate to have him as the new leader of our football program.”
