UPDATE 3/14/2020: The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is closed starting March 15, 2020. They plan to re-open Wednesday, April 1st but will continually evaluate the situation.
Executive Director, Cathy Green said today that The Wisconsin Maritime Museum and USS Cobia will remain open and fully operational.
In a statement, Green said, “We have taken several preventative measures to ensure we are maintaining a safe space for all including encouraging staff and visitors to frequently wash and disinfect their hands, Janitorial staff paying increased attention to handrails, door handles, elevators, restrooms, and countertops, and Hand sanitizers available to the staff and public throughout the museum.”
As with many businesses, the museum’s leadership team is staying on top of updates and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Wisconsin Department of Health.
The Wisconsin Maritime Museum website will be updated with any new developments including program cancelations and changes in hours. If you’ve already purchased tickets and would like to reschedule, email museum@wisconsinmaritime.org.
Green also said, “The museum has experienced some financial impact and asks for your support during this challenging time for many public institutions like ours. Even a $20 donation will help.”
