With schools being closed for the foreseeable future, the Manitowoc Public School District have been working to try and keep the student’s education going.
Teachers have been creating digital programs for the older students who can utilize such a service, and the schools are offering the use of Chromebook laptops for those who need them.
Students are able to come to the schools today from noon to 7:00 PM to pick up a Chromebook, as well as their personal belongings and any other educational resources they may need to ensure their learning doesn’t take a hit.
Also, free lunches will be offered to students in the MPSD starting tomorrow. The lunches will be made and set out front of Franklin, Jefferson, and Madison from 11:30 to 1:00 PM, and students can come pick up some food free of charge.
MPSD Superintendent Mark Holzman told SeehaferNews.com “Our goal is to create a stop-gap. We know that this is a challenging time for our families, and that it is difficult for students to learn the same way they typically would be, but we’re just trying to provide some learning opportunities.”
This system is scheduled to run through April 6th, but depending on how tings go, it could be extended.
