After leading the Kiel Raider Football program, the last seven years Mike Dressler has decided to retire.
Speaking with SeehaferNews.com, Dressler told us it was just “simply time” and a decision that was made by both he and his wife Diane.
Dressler’s coaching career spanned 48 years with Head coaching stops at Milwaukee Hamilton, Fond Du Lac, North Fond Du Lac and Kiel. He also coached Boys and Girls Track at various schools including His two daughters at Wausau West High School from 1990 to 1992.
The veteran coach says he got into the profession to answer and be obedient to what his words “was my true calling coaching and teaching kids”.
His final game was coaching on the sidelines at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison last fall in the Division Four State Championship Game against Catholic Memorial of Waukesha.
Although the Raiders lost, Dressler says that game “will be one of the fondest memories of my career.”
He and his wife Diane plan to stay in the area telling us that they have made many friends here and now call this their home.
