16-year-old Damian Hauschultz will continue to sit in jail, as his request for a reduced cash bail has been denied.
Damian is facing charges and is being tried as an adult for the 2018 death of 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz.
Damien had a hearing on the matter yesterday, but was not physically present, as the hearing was conducted via video chat.
His attorneys claim that his current bail amount, which is $100,000, is excessive, but District Attorney Jacalyn LeBre disagrees, citing the violent nature of the crimes Damien is accused of.
Judge Jerilyn Dietz agreed and denied the reduction.
Damien is facing charges of First-Degree Reckless Homicide, three counts Of Child Abuse, and three counts of Substantial Battery, and could spend up to 40 years in prison if convicted.
