Many people are struggling both mentally and financially right now, due to losing their job during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shoreline Hometown Credit Union is doing everything they can to help their members maintain some semblance of financial security.
Kyle Bryntesen, the Hometown Business Development Director at Shoreline told SeehaferNews.com, “One of the reasons I love working for Shoreline, is we are community based, and our members do come first. We have implemented a skip-a-pay on our loans, knowing there are a huge amount of people that are without employment at this time. In trying to decide whether to put food on the table, or pay their loan to us, we certainly want them to take care of themselves.”
A lot of places that are doing these “skip-a-payment” programs require the payment to be made once everything clears up, but Kyle explained that the payment will be tacked on at the end of the loan, as opposed to right away.
Shoreline is also doing some other things.
Bryntesen explained that they are also “Waiving any overdraft fees as well as any additional fees on accounts…and allowing people to withdraw their CDs early if they are worried about cash flow without any penalties.”
He encouraged any members that are having financial troubles to give them a call, because “We want to help our members in any way we can.”
Kyle has some words of encouragement for everyone, saying “We will all get through this together. Manitowoc is an amazing community. Seeing all the people supporting their local small businesses is so encouraging to me. I know we are still struggling right now, but we will come out of this on the other side.”
