A coronavirus relief bill is signed into law by Governor Tony Evers after bipartisan approval yesterday in the Wisconsin Senate.
The Assembly passed the legislation Tuesday in a virtual session.
The measure ensures that Wisconsin can secure more than $2 billion in federal stimulus funds.
It also allows the state to draw more Medicaid funding and unemployment benefits and authorizes $75 million in emergency funding.
Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said “this legislation is important to the history of our state as we came together to respond to the crisis created by COVID-19.”
Governor Tony Evers said the bill is “finally a step in the right direction, but there is much more work to be done.”
