A Manitowoc restaurant is finding ways to ‘give back’ during this ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic.
Like all bars and restaurants in Wisconsin, the Time Out Sports Bar & Grill, is closed to sit down dining but the popular northwest-side establishment offers call-in orders and pick up food service.
Owner Tom Peterson tells us Friday sales have been “just incredible” and the rest of the week can be described as hit or miss, but they’re surviving. Peterson explains the community has been very supportive of them and a number of the drive-up window patrons have remarked how much they miss dining inside and can’t wait until the virus restrictions are lifted.
The Time Out owner praised his kitchen staff, manager and the remaining waitstaff for handling that much volume in take out orders, calling it a “difficult learning curve.” He also said he feels really bad for the employees who’ve been laid off but are receiving unemployment benefits under the SBA paycheck protection program.
Peterson tells us they’ve designed t-shirts with the slogans “stay at home”, “the longest timeout of my life” and for kids “was put in the longest timeout of my life 2020.” Proceeds from the shirt sales are going to support the efforts of InCourage, Manitowoc County’s domestic violence center. Those interested in purchasing a t-shirt can go to the Time Out website to order & they will ship it to you.
Also, in support of our local dairy farmers Peterson said they’re giving away cheese curds and whips, milk or butter to customers for each takeout order through April 30th.
