The Wisconsin Maritime Museum announced on their website that “for the safety of guests, staff, and volunteers” they will be canceling the 2020 Subfest events that were to take place in conjunction with 4th on the Shore in the City of Manitowoc.
They go on to state that they plan to celebrate Manitowoc’s submarine building heritage and submarine veterans all summer long and they encourage visitors to the museum as long as public health guidelines allow.
The museum will be expanding online programs to continue to highlight stories of submarine veterans and volunteers. The latest updates can be found at WisconsinMaritime.org.
Meanwhile, The Fourth on the Shore Celebration is currently still on as scheduled. Mayor Justin Nickels said this week that a final decision on the event’s status should be announced soon.
