The Wharf along the Manitowoc River in downtown Manitowoc proved to be a very popular destination in its’ first year, and the owner is looking forward to year 2, with “a few changes.”
The outdoor bar and music venue opened last evening for the season, and Brennan Seehafer tells SeehaferNews.com about some safety precautions. “All of our tables are spaced out six feet apart,” Seehafer explained. “We have reduced the number of stools along our bar front, as well as put multiple hand sanitizer stations around our property. We are constantly sanitizing high touched areas and all of our bartenders…will be wearing masks.”
Seehafer also said they’re scaling back a little, allowing only 40% of their capacity into the venue. After a few weeks have passed and they see what happens, Seehafer said they will “slowly add in a bit each week.”
The owner of the Wharf says they took some proactive measures ahead of the recent heavy rainfall, including putting in some breaker rock along the property line. While the waves did crash onto the property, Seehafer said it has receded and the rock “really helped maintain our property.”
Seehafer also hinted at additional plans for the future, saying “This is phase one of some really exciting developments that we are going to be doing on this piece of real estate here.”
The Wharf plans to be open daily from 3-until-10pm and last summer, we’re told, it was not only popular with local residents but attracted visitors from all over the state.
