Hundreds of people were at Washington Park in Manitowoc Saturday to support the Black Lives Matter Movement.
A local group of activists organized the event, which began at 1:00 PM and offered free food, drinks, and music for everyone in the community.
People at the park were talking, and enjoying each other’s company for several hours, with hundreds still gathered at 7:00 PM, continuing to show support for the movement which aims to shine a light on the racial injustices that are still prevalent in America today.
Several members of the Manitowoc Police Department and County Sheriff’s Office were on hand, including Sheriff Dan Hartwig, and Police Chief Nick Reimer.
We spoke with a couple of the event organizers, and we will have more with them tomorrow.
