As the fall semester draws ever closer, UW Green Bay Manitowoc Campus is preparing to welcome their students back onto the campus.
We spoke with Rachele Bakic, the Executive Director of Admissions at the school, who explained, “In Admissions here, we are going to start tours on all four campuses, and those will be by appointment only. Right now our number is 10 people or less for the individual campuses.“
UW Manitowoc, along with UW Sheboygan and UW Marinette, were paired up with UW Green Bay back in 2018 when the UW Board of Regents paired all schools in the system with a larger school in the area to allow for smaller schools to thrive.
Bakic told WOMT News that their partnership with UWGB has been rather successful. One way the pairing has helped the Manitowoc Capmpus is that they have been able to roll out five new bachelor programs. On top of that there are several new online options.
The number of transfers across the entire UW System has dropped due the partnerships allowing smaller schools to add these new programs as well. Bakic described another perk that came with the merger. “The affordability of the Manitowoc Campus is also another perk. Students still pay the same admission at the Freshman and Sophomore level that they would have prior.”
Bakic also voiced her sadness at the closure of Holy Family College, and said that any students from the college that have any questions about where to go from her should give UWGB-Manitowoc Campus a call.
