State and county health officials confirm that Wisconsin set a record Thursday for the most new coronavirus cases in one day – 754.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports there are at least 33,908 confirmed cases of the virus in the state.
More testing is a factor.
Health officials say 5.7% of new tests came back positive as of Thursday afternoon. That’s fairly consistent with Wednesday’s results.
A little over 79 percent of the people testing positive for COVID-19 have recovered.
