Manitowoc County has now seen a total of over 10,000 people tested for COVID-19.
Only four more cases were reported yesterday and that coupled with 6 recoveries and 11 more negative tests leaves their pandemic long totals at 310 confirmed cases, 196 active cases, and 9,864 negative tests.
Manitowoc County Emergency Services Director Travis Waack quelled the rumor that people that are tested multiple times are reported each time they are tested.
He explained, “Multiple test results on the same individual, whether positive or negative, are only counted one time in our report. None of the test results are duplicates on the same person.”
He said the numbers would be astronomical if they did report every single test that was done, including the medical personnel who are tested frequently.
In Sheboygan County the numbers look quite different. A whopping 59 new cases were listed in yesterday’s report, which encompasses Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. 63 recoveries were also reported, along with 891 negative test results.
Their pandemic long totals now sit at 691 confirmed cases, 178 active cases, and 20,660 negative test results.
