Manitowoc County Emergency Government reminds residents that the Point Beach Nuclear
Plant will be performing routine maintenance on a number of sirens located within ten miles
of the Plant.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack says this work scheduled for August 31st
thru September 11th (with the exception of Labor Day) helps to ensure that sirens around the
plant are in “good working order.” Waack adds citizens may hear siren activations for approximately
one to three minutes and notice activity going on around the site. Any questions or concerns can
be directed to 683-4201.
