While the number of new COVID-19 cases in Manitowoc County is not nearly as high as it is in other parts of the country, they are starting to come in at a much higher rate than they have at any point throughout the pandemic.
23 new cases were reported yesterday by the Manitowoc County Health Department, along with 2 recoveries and 98 negative test results. This leaves the pandemic totals at 664 cases, 312 of which remain active, and 13,096 negative test results.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, they are seeing a different trend.
According to the Division of Public Health report from yesterday, only 8 new cases were reported, along with 11 recoveries and 327 negative test results. Their totals throughout the pandemic now sit at 1,202 cases, 84 of which are active, and 30,588 negative test results.
Also, for the first time the percentage of tests that come back positive is higher in Manitowoc county than Sheboygan County. Manitowoc County’s rate is at 4.8% while in Sheboygan County is at 3.8%.
