This past Thursday, the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Great Lakes Regional Administrator was in Eastern Wisconsin to honor three businesses with some awards, and to tour their facilities.
Rob Scott told SeehaferNews.com that he was excited to visit this part of his region. He said, “I’m a city boy, but I love going out to where stuff is made…and certainly here in Wisconsin you make a lot of stuff.” Scott had stops in Milwaukee, Hilbert, Appleton, Black Creek and at the Robinway Dairy Farm in Kiel, owned by Jay and Pam Binversie. He explained that the SBA helped the Binversie’s out through the Paycheck Protection Program. “Farms are small businesses,” Scott explained. “We want to save as many small businesses as we can across the country, and under President Trump’s leadership and his support of rural America, that is what we are out here doing.”
Scott told us that Wisconsin has received a total of around $12 billion though the Paycheck Protection Program, out of the $525 billion given out nationwide. Scott called Wisconsin “the breadbasket of America” due to our deep seeded roots in farming and manufacturing. Scott also spoke highly of the reception he got here, as he was able to experience “Wisconsin nice” first hand.
