The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports a record-setting 20.5% of the people tested for COVID-19 Sunday had positive results.
The 1,582 confirmed cases also set a state record.
Public health officials report one death and 23 new patients who have been hospitalized.
The seven-day average of reported positive daily cases reached 1,142, more than 36 percent higher than last week.
Most of the positive test results have been centered around Wisconsin’s college campuses.
