After several months of steady but low numbers of new COVID-19 cases, the number of new cases per day has gotten sporadic.
Since September 1st, there have been as few as 3 new cases in a day, and up to 24, which is a new high and was reported yesterday by the Manitowoc County Health Department.
Also in that report were 8 new recoveries, meaning the gap between the number of active cases and recoveries is beginning to narrow.
And the fact that no new negative tests came back means that the percentage of tests coming back positive is also on the rise, now at 5.2%.
The pandemic totals now sit at 730 cases, 333 of which are active, and 13,205 negative tests.
In Sheboygan County, they saw a spike of 54 new cases since Friday’s report, leaving them with 1,281 total cases, 124 of which are active, and 31,696 negative test results.
