It was another hefty weekend in Manitowoc County when it comes to COVID-19.
Friday saw the single day new case record get broken yet again, with 46 new cases on that day. Also, 34 cases were reported on Saturday and 37 on Sunday, leaving a total of 117 new cases coming in over the weekend according to reports from the County Health Department.
That coupled with only 35 recoveries and 124 negative test results, leaves the pandemic totals at 1,102 cases, 590 of which remain active, and 14,322 negative test results.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health has reported 31 new cases on Friday, along with 26 recoveries and 665 negative test results. One person in the 60-69-year-old age group also died with the virus, bringing their death toll up to 16.
Their pandemic totals now sit at 1,584 cases, 135 of which remain active, and 35,729 negative test results.
Manitowoc County’s positive return rate is now at 7.1%, while 4.2% of all tests performed in Sheboygan County have come back positive.
