The latest COVID-19 numbers from the Manitowoc County Health Department continue to show the same trend we have seen over the past several weeks.
42 new cases were reported, along with 16 recoveries and 179 negative test results. This brings the pandemic long totals up to 1,226 cases, 692 of which remain active, and 14,519 negative test results.
The City of Manitowoc continues to account for the highest number of cases, with 44.5% coming from the Clipper City. Two Rivers is the next closest with 12.4 % of all cases, followed by Kiel at 10%. Reedsville is the only other municipality with more than 5% of cases, currently accounting for 8.5%.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan, the Division of Public Health reported a whopping 78 new cases along with 23 recoveries, and 525 negative test results. 2 more deaths were also linked to the virus.
59 of those new cases were confirmed in the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, bringing them up to 263 cases.
The pandemic totals now sit at 1,877 cases, 185 of which remain active, 18 deaths linked to the virus, and 37,680 negative test results.
