Another death in Manitowoc County has been attributed to COVID-19, on the same day that the single day case count record was once again broken.
49 new cases were reported yesterday by the Manitowoc County Health Department, along with 7 recoveries and 57 negative test results. This brings the pandemic long totals up to 1,275 cases, 733 of which remain active, 537 recoveries, 5 deaths, and 14,576 negative test results.
The numbers in Sheboygan County are also seeing record highs, with 169 new cases reported by the Division of Public Health. 101 of those cases were reported in the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution, leaving them with 364 confirmed cases. That, along with 14 recoveries, and 2,008 negative test results leaves the pandemic totals at 2,046 cases, 239 of which remain active, 1,425 recoveries, and 39,688 negative tests.
The Positive return rate continues to climb locally, as Manitowoc County’s rate is now at just over 8%, which is nearly double what it was on September 1st. in Sheboygan County, their positive return rate now sits at 4.9%.
