Wisconsin’s COVID-19 crisis continues to grow and state health officials warn it will get worse before it gets better.
Wisconsin Department of Health Services Secretary-designate Andrea Palm called the state “a dangerous place,” saying, “We are overwhelming our health care system.”
Sixteen people died in Wisconsin in the 24 hours ending Wednesday while another 2,319 positive coronavirus test results were reported.
Wisconsin hospitals say they are treating nearly three times the number of coronavirus patients they were a month ago – while they deal with shrinking bed capacity and severe staffing shortages as hundreds of infected health care workers are forced to quarantine at home.
