Yesterday’s COVID-19 report is a little misleading at first glance.
Only 2 new cases were in the report from the Manitowoc County Health Department, but that is due to a change in reporting procedures. The County has re-aligned their reporting with the state, which has a different cut-off time to define when the 24-hour period begins and ends. This led to a lower number of cases today, but there will likely be a major up-tick tomorrow.
Also in the report, 12 new recoveries and 197 negative tests were reported, leaving 1,505 total cases throughout the pandemic, 879 of them remaining active, 621 recoveries, and 15,669 negative test results.
This is the first time since the September 8th report that the number of recoveries outweighed the number of new cases.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health confirmed 94 new cases, 21 of which came out of the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. Their total case count is up to 572.
One more person has died as well, and the report says they were in the 70-79 year-old-age group.
50 recoveries and 559 negative test results were also reported, leaving a total of 2,528 cases throughout the pandemic, 313 of which remain active, 1,623 recoveries, 20 deaths, and 42,192 negative test results.
