The number of COVID-19 cases in Manitowoc County is quickly approaching the 2,000 mark.
According to yesterday’s report from the Manitowoc County Health Department, 50 new cases were added yesterday, bringing the pandemic total up to 1,940. It is likely, based on the number of cases reported over the past several weeks, that the County will surpass that milestone in the next couple of days.
The Health Department also reported an additional 11 recoveries, and 18 negative tests. This leaves those totals at 733 recoveries, which means that 1,200 cases remain active, and 16,337 negative test results.
Meanwhile in Sheboygan County, 139 new cases were reported, with 58 of them stemming from the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. 754 inmates have now contracted the virus in the KMCI.
Also, 66 recoveries were reported, along with 198 negative test results.
Their pandemic totals now sit at 3,257 confirmed cases, 567 of which remain active, 1,916 recoveries, and 44,676 negative test results.
