A 29-percent drop in revenue has led Wisconsin-based Quad-Graphics to shut down four of its plants.
The move will eliminate 1,100 jobs.
The company says its printing plants in Sussex, Hartford, Lomira and West Allis won’t be affected.
The reports indicate the company’s employee reductions actually began at the first of this year.
Company leaders blame the revenue reduction on the COVID-19 pandemic and the pressure it puts on printing volume, and pricing in the industry.
