The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory until 9:00 PM Tuesday, and a gale warning until 6:00 AM Wednesday
For the Small Craft Advisory, northeast to east winds 15 to 25 kt, with gusts to 30 kts and waves of 4 to 6 ft. For the Gale Warning, southwest winds to 30 kt with gusts to 45 kt and waves of 5 to 8 ft expected. The area affected is the Bay of Green Bay south of line from Cedar River to Rock Island Passage and Lake Michigan from Rock Island Passage to Sheboygan.
Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. A Small Craft Advisory will likely be needed after the Gale Warning expires Wednesday morning.
Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe conditions.
