The Green Bay Police Department has issued a statement this morning, letting the public know that the Brown County Communications Center’s VOIP, or Voice Over Internet Phones are currently not working to call the 911 system.
Normal cell phones and landlines are working normally to contact 911, and those in distress are urged to use these devices in case of emergency. If your only option is a VOIP phones call the non-emergency number for the communication system at 920-448-3201, where you can still be directed to emergency services.
All other emergencies and technical systems are working as expected.
The Brown County Communication Center is working hard to resolve the issue and will notify the public when VOIP is working properly.
