The University of Wisconsin Green Bay is doing their part to help the environment by utilizing their new composter.
Students are using the composter to keep hundreds of pounds of food waste out of landfills and combining it with woodchips which is ten made into fertilizer for gardens around campus. At some point, they hope to make the fertilizer available to the community. Since getting the tool in October, it is estimated that students have put roughly 15,000 pounds of food waste through it already.
Not only does the tool help the environment, but it helps UWGB maintain their status as an Eco U University.
