Another person has died due to COVID-19 in Manitowoc County over the weekend.
According to the reports from the Manitowoc County Health Department, this individual was a resident of the City of Manitowoc and was between 76 and 85-years-old. This brings the death toll up to 37 since the start of the pandemic.
Also, 118 new cases were reported over the weekend, with 62 coming in on Saturday and 56 on Sunday. No new cases or recoveries were reported on Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday, which brings the pandemic total up to 4,846 cases.
But in some good news, there were also 182 recoveries reported over the weekend. 98 were reported on Saturday, and 84 on Sunday, which brings the pandemic total up to 2,936, or just over 60% of all cases reported.
The number of active cases has also dropped to 1,873, while the number of negative tests rose by 209 to 23,169.
As of Sunday’s report, 158 people are hospitalized, with 80% of ICU beds in the 10 Northeast Wisconsin Hospitals occupied.
Sheboygan County has not issued a new report since last Wednesday, with the latest report scheduled to come out this afternoon.
