After nearing 75% last week, the percentage of ICU beds in use in the 10 Northeast Wisconsin hospitals has rebounded back up to around 83%.
The hospitalization rate was slowly dropping all last week, reaching it’s lowest point on Saturday with 78% ICU bed usage, and 156 people seeking treatment, but that number jumped up to 175 in yesterday’s COVID-19 report by the Manitowoc County Health Department, the same place it was on November 22nd.
43 new cases of the virus were included in yesterday’s update, along with 35 recoveries, and 126 negative tests. A total of 4,889 people have contacted COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, with 2,971 fully recovering. Roughly 60% of all cases have shifted into the recovered column, leaving 1,881 active cases.
A total of 23,295 tests have come back negative, and 37 people have died from the virus.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health issued their first update since last Wednesday, and it included 391 new cases and 3 more deaths. A whopping 614 more people recovered in that time as well, with 607 tests coming back negative.
