Almost 1500 out-of-state workers have been helping Wisconsin deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
The Department of Safety and Professional Services agency streamlined the application process due to the emergency situation.
It reports 937 were granted clearance to practice medicine in the state between April 1st and October 31st. Another 556 were allowed to practice telehealth.
Among those getting temporary licenses to work in Wisconsin were 245 doctors and 109 nurses. Each received a temporary license.
