The number of recoveries from COVID-19 in Manitowoc County has been a bit of a roller coaster over the past month.
Since the start of December, the number of new recoveries has gone up as high as 131 on the 7th and as low as 27 on the 14th. Yesterday’s report was right in the middle, with 88 new recoveries reported by the Manitowoc County Health Department. That coupled with 35 new cases, brings the pandemic totals up to 5,572 cases, 1,513 of which remain active, and 4,012 people have recovered.
There were no new deaths reported, meaning the death toll remains steady at 47 for the 4th day in a row.
The hospitalization numbers remain pretty steady as well, with one more person being admitted to one of the ten hospitals in the northeast region, raising the total to 107. The percentage of ICU beds in use did not change, remaining at 79%.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported an additional 3 deaths yesterday, raising their death toll to 82. All three of these individuals were over the age of 80.
Other than that, it was a pretty mild day, as only 25 new cases were reported, and 93 people were added to the recovered column. This brings their pandemic totals up to 10,406 cases, 1,521 of which remain active, and 8,803 people have recovered from COVID-19.
