Kathleen A. Wittmus, age 69, a resident of the Town of Liberty, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence.
Kathy was born on October 10, 1951 in Manitowoc to the late Gilbert and Doris “Dolly” (Sibersack) Gleichner Sr. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1971. Kathy then went on to obtain her certification from the Wisconsin College of Cosmetology. On June 5, 1986 Kathy married Dale Wittmus in Manitowoc. For the past 29 years, she had worked at Cost Cutters Hair Salon in Manitowoc where she was currently employed. Kathy’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends – especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include Kathy’s husband of 34 years, Dale; three children, Teresa (Paul) Martin, Cleveland; Brian (Katee) Schmitz, Valders; and Sara (William) Lloyd, Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Justin (Annie) Martin, Chloe Schmitz, Joshua Martin, Kayla Lloyd, Carley Schmitz, Mya Lloyd, and Alayna Lloyd; brother, Dale (Kristine) Gleichner; sister, Cheri (Jeff) Korinek; also other relatives and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Dolly Gleichner Sr.; brother, Gilbert Gleichner Jr.; grandson, Nicholas Martin; and niece, Jamie Korinek.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Deacon Rich Bahnaman will officiate with burial to take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens at a later date. Following the memorial service, a dinner for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Kathy’s name.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
