Wisconsin reported 120 COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, a daily record.
It tops the last record of 107 deaths on Dec. 1 and follows the eight deaths reported Monday.
Daily death totals can vary widely throughout the week as public health workers enter data into the statewide system and test results are returned.
The seven-day daily death average, which smooths out anomalies in the data and helps illustrate trends, rose to 60 Tuesday. It’s just under the all-time record high of 61 set Dec. 7.
The newly reported deaths also boost the total COVID-19 death toll in Wisconsin past 4,500.
