The calendar may have transitioned into 2021, but the hopeful vibes coming from the COVID-19 numbers are continuing.
A total of 82 new cases were reported in Manitowoc County over the weekend, with 25 coming in on Friday, and 57 on Sunday. No new cases were reported on Saturday. That is an average of 27 and one-third new cases per day, which is still pretty low.
Also, 144 more people recovered, which brings the pandemic totals up to 6,158 cases, 1,036 of which remain active, and 5,071 recoveries.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 also dropped by 4 to 96, and 80% of all ICU beds in the 10 hospitals in the Northeast region are occupied.
The Sheboygan County Division of Public Health has not issued a new report since December 30th, where a total of 11,270 people were reported to have contracted the virus, 10,178 have recovered, and 999 cases remain active.
