Russell L. Mraz, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Thursday evening, January 7, 2021 at the Sharon Richardson Community Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.
Russ was born on January 23, 1927 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Joseph and Emma Rimple Mraz. Russ served his country with the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge, Russ returned to Manitowoc. He had been employed with the City of Manitowoc Police Department for many years. In later years Russ was employed with Mirro Aluminum as a security guard. On July 16, 1949 he married Norma Broen at First Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2011.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Becky Mraz, Suamico and Mark Mraz and special friend Amanda Richards, Stiles; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan and John Schuh, Whitelaw, Joanne and Dr. Jerry Friedman, Cascade, Amy and James Meyer, Manitowoc, Becky and Lance Jerale, Manitowoc; 24 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emma Mraz, wife, Norma Mraz, infant son, Robert, and one brother, Arthur Mraz, one grandson and one great grandson.
Memorial services are being planned for a later date at which time an obituary will be published in the Herald Times Reporter and also announced on the radio stations WOMT & WCUB prior to the services taking place.
