After a weekend that appeared to be the beginning of a second (or third) wave of COVID-19 in Manitowoc County, the numbers appear to have reverted back to the more hopeful path they were on prior.
30 new cases of COVID were reported by the Manitowoc County Health Department, along with 44 recoveries. This brings the pandemic totals up to 6,491 cases, and 5,445 recoveries, and saw the number of active cases dropped back below 1,000 to 991.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the 10 hospitals in the Northeast Region also jumped up 7 points to 99, while the percentage of ICU beds in use rose 3 percentage points to 79%.
Meanwhile, the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health reported a total of 104 new cases between Saturday and Monday, which is an average of 34.6 each day. 175 people were also transferred to the recovered column or an average of 58.3 per day.
This leaves their pandemic totals at 11,900 cases, 10,974 recoveries, and 830 cases remain active.
No new deaths were reported in either county, with Manitowoc County remaining at 55, and Sheboygan County’s death toll remaining stagnant at 96.
