The Manitowoc County Health Department is continuing to report lower numbers of new COVID-19 cases, which in turn is lowering the number of active cases in the County.
Only 17 new cases were included in their report yesterday (January 12th), along with 30 recoveries. This leaves the pandemic totals at 6,508 cases, 978 of which remain active, and 5,475 recoveries.
In some more good news, the number of people hospitalized in the Northeast Region of Hospitals remained stagnant at 99, however, the percentage of ICU beds in use rose by 4 points to 83%.
No new deaths were reported, leaving the death toll at 55.
For those who are interested, Manitowoc County has reported 26,546 negative test results, or 80% of all tests administered, while Sheboygan County has reported a total of 41,484 negative tests. This accounts for roughly 78% of all tests.
Also, as of yesterday’s report, 84% of people who have contracted the virus in Manitowoc have recovered, and 92.5% have recovered in Sheboygan County.
The numbers look similar in Sheboygan County as well. Only 21 new cases were added yesterday, while 53 people were added to the recovered column.
Also, no new deaths were reported, which brings the pandemic totals as reported by the Division of Public Health up to 11,921 cases, 11,027 recoveries, 798 active cases, and the death toll remained stagnant at 96.
