A state vaccine advisory subcommittee is backing a phase 1-B vaccine rollout plan that would greatly expand the people eligible for a shot.
The full committee would still have to give its approval to include all people age 65 and older, grocery workers, meat processors, transit bus drivers, teachers, daycare workers, college professors, 9-1-1 dispatchers, and state prisoners.
That would basically mean one-third of Wisconsin’s adult population, 1.6 million people, could seek vaccination.
One doctor points out that the list doesn’t include people under 65 with heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, or other serious health issues.
