The death toll from COVID-19 in Manitowoc County rose by two yesterday.
According to the Health Department, one of the individuals was under the age of 66, and the other was over 85 years old, and they resided in Manitowoc and Two Rivers. These deaths raise the total number of deaths in the County since the start of the pandemic up to 59. A total of 8 deaths have been linked to COVID-19 so far this year.
Also in yesterday’s report, 26 new cases were added along with 24 new recoveries. This brings the pandemic totals up to 6,752 cases, 5,796 recoveries, and the active case count remained stagnant at 897.
The number of people hospitalized for COVID in the northeast region also rose by two up to an even 100, while the percentage of ICU beds in use fell two percentage points to 76%.
Meanwhile, in Sheboygan County, the Division of Public Health also reported two deaths yesterday, raising their death toll up to 111. Both individuals were rather young, with one in the 10 to 19-year old age group and the other between 30 and 39 years old.
Also in their report were 18 new cases and 51 recoveries. This brings the pandemic totals up to 12,251 cases, 11,494 recoveries, and 646 active cases.
