People with a connection to the Weyauwega-Fremont School District have until next Monday to vote for the new mascot for their athletic teams.
Here’s a hint – it’s going to have something to do with “Hawks.”
Officials say they received about 100 suggestions after deciding to drop the “Indians” name and they have narrowed the choices down to Warhawks, River Hawks, Red Hawks, and just Hawks.
The school board voted last October to do away with the “Indians” name to respect Native Americans.
