As was expected after a day where no new COVID-19 recoveries were reported, the Manitowoc County Health Department reported a pretty big spike in that category yesterday (January 26th).
In their daily update, the Health Department reported 12 new cases, alongside 41 recoveries. This was the fourth day in a row of sub-20 new cases. These numbers bring the pandemic totals up to 6,839 cases, 5,923 recoveries, and leaves 856 active cases.
While the active case count is not dropping at a fast rate, it is still falling, having reduced by 229 so far in January.
Also of note, the number of people hospitalized with COVID in the northeast region rose by six to 88, and no new deaths were reported. That number has remained stagnant at 60 for four consecutive days.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan County saw quite similar numbers yesterday as well.
The Division of Public Health reported only 10 new cases and 36 recoveries. This brings their pandemic totals up to 12,358 cases, 11,676 recoveries, and 570 active cases.
Their death toll also remained stagnant at 112.
