The Wisconsin Community Gardens Conference has announced that Cathy Walker, president of the American Community Gardening Association, will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural statewide community garden conference.
Walker’s speech, entitled “Rebuilding Communities Through Community Gardens: Grow, Unite, and Educate,” will open the two-day virtual event.
Conference registration is open to all at DaneGardens.net/conference and closes February 1. The conference hopes to help connect gardeners and garden leaders throughout Wisconsin, to further strengthen the state’s many community gardens and their positive impacts on food security, health, and community building.
The event is scheduled to take place virtually from 9:00 AM-12:30 PM on Friday, February 12, and 12:30-4:30 PM on Saturday, February 13. There is a suggested attendance fee of $5-$10, payable upon registration.
