As we predicted yesterday, the number of people who recovered from COVID-19 in Manitowoc County was rather low yesterday.
In their daily update, the Manitowoc County Health Department reported 23 new cases and only 6 recoveries. This broke the four-day streak of sub-20 new cases and saw the lowest number of recoveries (excluding holidays) since November 6th.
The pandemic totals now sit at 6,878 cases, 5,944 recoveries, and 874 active cases, a number that has grown by 18 in the last two days. The daily number of recoveries should rebound in today’s report since 30 days ago 35 new cases were reported.
Also in yesterday’s report, the number of people hospitalized for COVID in the northeast region grew by six to 82, and the percentage of ICU beds in use jumped up one percentage point to 75%.
No new deaths were reported for the sixth consecutive day, remaining stagnant at 60.
In Sheboygan County, one more death was reported by the Division of Public Health. This individual was reportedly in the 50-59-year-old age group, and the death toll is now at 113.
Also, 23 new cases were added, and 32 more people were listed as recovered. This brings the pandemic totals up to 12,409 cases, 11,743 recoveries, and 553 active cases.
