A combination of a low number of new cases and a relatively large number of recoveries means that the active COVID-19 case county in Manitowoc County has taken a pretty big dip.
The Health Department reported only nine new cases yesterday, along with 57 new recoveries. This means that the active case count has dropped by 46, down to 769, its lowest point since October 1st. The other pandemic totals currently sit at 6,960 confirmed cases, and 6,131 people have recovered.
In more good news, there were also no new deaths, leaving that total at 60, while nine fewer patients are in need of treatments at area hospitals, leaving 73 patients still in hospital beds.
In Sheboygan County, there is some good news and bad news.
First, the bad news, as eight more people have died from COVID-19, bringing their total up to 122. Of these deaths, two were between 60 and 69-years old, one was in the 70-79 age group, and five were over the age of 80. 3
Now for the good news, as only 11 new cases were added, and 25 patients recovered. Their pandemic totals now sit at 12,474 cases, 11,917 recoveries, and 435 cases remain active.
